| Roe v. Wade was an extremely controversial supreme court case in 1973. The ruling allows women to have an abortion for any reason as long as the fetus could not yet live outside the womb. Additionally, if the woman's health was at stake, abortions are allowed even when the fetus could survive outside the womb. |
